The O’Country Club.

I am currently working with clients who want to transform their basement into a real boy’s club. The basement is currently equipped with a large bar area, pool table, ginormous TV and a free-standing golf arcade game. While it does meet the requirements of a “man cave,”  I’ve been hired to address all the design details and give it a clear direction. So, I’m mixing authentic Irish pub inspired goodness with classic American design. I’m taking a page from Emily Henderson‘s handbook (by naming projects with a cute combo of descriptive words) and calling it The O’Country Club.

fishermen and green hunter boots

leather bound books and the bride and groom

green walls

Remember those Polo.com TV commercials from a few years ago? You know, “The romance, the beauty, the world of Ralph Lauren” ones? Well, imagine that world combined with the decor from any Irish pub you’ve been in. Moody lighting, heavy wood paneling, menswear inspired fabrics, some sort of library feature displaying the works of James Joyce and furniture pieces in plaid and/or leather with tufting and/or nail heads. Well, that my friends, is The O’Country Club.
