Brought to you by the letter “N”.

I have always loved the look of large scale letters – on the sides of old buildings or even in interiors. So, I am happy to announce the newest member of our family, our over-sized letter “N” that David and I found at Renningers Antique Extravagnza (I feel like I should say EXTRAVAGANZA in a super deep movie announcer voice) this past weekend.

Troutman N

The sellers told us this “N” came from the Troutman Building outside of Pittsburgh, PA. I love when things have a story. The “N” at one time lit up, so the sellers shoved a strand of Christmas lights in the back which actually works and doesn’t look half bad. David has already tried to convince me that the “N” needs to be fabricated into a bar, with a counter on top. We’ll see about that. For now, it’s going to sit on the floor in our Dining Room.

Sea of vintage letters

Letter A

Hidden letter Y

I first heard of Renningers Kutztown Antique Extravaganza when reading about Sarah Bedford and Alan Hill’s home in one of Design*Sponge’s Sneak Peaks back in February. During their interview, homeowners Sara and Alan mentioned that if they could, they would “go [to Renningers] every year with a big truck” and that often “the best bargains are to be had the last two hours”. I concur. So, mark you calendars for the next Antiques Extravaganza at the end of June (23rd – 25th to be exact).
