What I’m Working On: Michelle Armas

Another client of mine is in the market for large scale artwork. During one of our first design meetings, we determined we needed something huge, abstract and bursting with color. The painter, Michelle Armas, immediately came to mind. I first learned about Michelle Armas on the blog Elements of Style and immediately fell in love with her work when I saw it. And thankfully, so did my clients. Here are a few if Michelle’s new pieces. Five of my favorites, for sure.

And drum roll, please! This is “Happy Birthday”. The painting my clients selected for their family room.

Isn’t is beautiful? The size is actually 60″ x 48″ so it’s enormous. And the colors match perfectly with our fabrics. Take a look at the pseudo design board I created for this client. You might remember this from an earlier post.

We’ve changed a few things since this board was created. We are using a leather alternative in a light teal for the ottoman, we updated the chair fabric to something a little more bold and we selected another style for the floor lamp. You can see our Michelle Armas painting in the top right corner that we used as our place holder. And now we have the real thing. Can’t wait to see it in person.

Love her use of color! Of course I want the last one, and it’s $1,500!

I showed this post to Lily and asked her what she thought the last painting’s name was and she answered, “The Monet.” Works, right? Great post, we loved it!
