The Captain Fairfield Inn.

The highlight of the latest issue of Rue Magazine is the feature on the boutique bed and breakfast, The Captain Fairfield Inn in Kennebunkport, Maine. Inside the walls of this traditional mansion, built in 1813, the designer Rachel Reider created an atmosphere of comfort (that you would expect from a typical New England bed and breakfast) mixed with contemporary accents and flair. The overall look is sophisticated and fun.

This is a photo of the Rachel suite, the designers favorite room. My favorite room is the Foyer. It’s spectacular. Or is it the Dining Room? I like them all. Be sure to check out photos of the rest of the Inn here (pages 76-87).

Be sure to flip through Rue if you haven’t already. It’s one of my favorite online publications. The only catch is that I can’t upload images from the magazine (doesn’t anyone trust anyone anymore?!) so you’ll have to go to the site to see it in its entire glory.

Thank you so much Joanna for sharing Rue with your readers! (And we’re working on upgrading our tech platform so that it’s easier to upload images from the pages of the magazine–thanks for your patience!) We appreciate your support so much! xo Anne from Rue
