Bistro Chairs.

After seeing the cover of the May issue of House Beautiful, I can’t seem to get enough of French bistro chairs. This image, combined with the fact that David and I are thinking about spending a day or two in Paris while we are in Europe, makes me think of drinking coffee and eating macaroons in a French cafe (wearing stripes and a beret). Of course the bistro chairs used in their original state, along the streets of Paris, are quite fabulous but I also love seeing them indoors in these kitchens.

On a side note, this kitchen might be the prettiest kitchen I ever did see:

The use of raw rattan, mixed with sharp colors, create such beautiful and interesting patterns on the backs and seats of the chairs. I think the bistro chairs are also mighty cool as bar stools. Most kitchen surfaces are hard (cabinets, counters, appliances, hardware) so I love the idea of using these barstools to bring in an additional layer of texture and color. Tres chic.
